POLICE SURGERY

Your Local Policing Team will be holding a Surgery

At Hornton Village Hall between

5-6pm on the third Wednesday of each month.

This will be held as a ‘drop-in’ session, which will allow residents to discuss any issues, seek help and advice, and pick up informative leaflets. This is also an excellent chance to meet members of your local team, and ensure that concerns and issues are raised with the Police.

Crime Reduction advice will also be available, as will information on Neighbourhood Watch schemes in the area.

In order to ensure that all the villages covered in the Banbury Rural Neighbourhood get an appropriate measure of policing, the following villages are required to travel to Horley.

· Wroxton

· Hornton

· Alkerton

   · Shenington

· Balscote

· Epwell

· Drayton

                                                              ·              Shutford

We are writing to let you know of a mobile grocery shop that will soon be visiting villages in Oxfordshire. It is expected that this will be operational from November 2010.

We are proud to say Becci’s Mobile Shop will stock a range of local fresh produce, baked goods and ecologically sound alternatives to some major brands as well as staples such as tinned goods, drinks and household products. We intend to supply most of our seasonal fruit and vegetables and all of our meat and dairy products from Oxfordshire sources. Our prices will be competitive with local supermarkets.

Becci’s Mobile Shop will be operating on a weekly schedule, so each village will have the same visiting hours for the mobile shop each week (for approx 30/45 minutes, depending on the size of the village). We are aware that there is a desperate shortage of amenities in many villages, and our research has indicated that communities in your Parish may benefit from this service, particularly Wroxton.

Balscote Garden Party

Farewell to the Wroxton & Balscote Gazette

Derrick Collier has announced that the July edition will be the last after some 20 years.  The hard work that Derrick and his helpers have put in over this time has been enormous and the village owes them a great debt.  We all wish you a very happy retirement Derrick.
